With spring only a breath away, why not assess your current interior design. Upgrading your look or style is a great way to polish your branding image, as well. Here are 3 things to think about when considering redecorating.
Symmetry
The textbook definition of symmetry is “the quality of being made of exactly similar parts facing each other or around an axis,” or “correct or pleasing proportion of the parts of a thing.” When symmetry is used in décor it promotes a sense of harmony in those who enter the area where it’s being displayed. For example, wall art positioned in such a manner or in such a position with the office furniture can create a symmetrical look. Placing a tall bookshelf on one end of a room and a long low table on the other can provide balance, too. Although the two items are of different heights if you stood the desk upright, it would be similar in size to the bookshelf.
Materials
Using a variety of materials is fun and creates visual texture. Textures add depth and character to an otherwise flat image. Additionally, using different materials with insight may evoke emotions and develop your brand image. Consider the differences between a room with curved wrought-iron articles and a room with touches of velvet trim. The two materials are visually and texturally different and create different atmospheres.
Branding
Your company brand is the most important thing to keep in mind when decorating the office building. Everything should reflect your image; that means the design should be in harmony with your brand’s tone, attitude, and personality. If you are unsure what your brand image is, then now is a good time to think that through. You want a connection between the brand image and the atmosphere in the office.
