You hope that your employees are motivated and engaged but there are so many distractions in the world. How do you keep them alert and energetic?

Here are some tips.

Offer employees incentives for their achievements. These incentives do not have to break the bank. Simple gestures of appreciation will keep your workers on task and performing at their best. For example, a ten-dollar gift card to a local eatery or a bag of candy, plant or small trinket for the best performers will add excitement. Money is a great motivator too!

It is hard to be motivated when your boss is not. If you are in charge of employees, be sure to appear to be energetic and productive. Your staff will follow suit.

There is so much competition in the workplace and between companies. Be sure your employees feel appreciated. A simple thank you for a job well done really can boost morale and keep them loyal to you.

Be sure to communicate with your staff on a regular basis. The idea that the boss knows what you are doing and need to do next, is a great way to keep employees on track and producing to the best of their ability.

Encourage your employees to take time off. Some people do not get away from the workplace for lunch or an afternoon to themselves. Everyone needs time off to re-group and come back feeling engaged and refreshed.

Organize an activity for your employees outside of work hours. A picnic, movie day, or other family oriented event will help your employees bond with their co-workers and meet their families. Thus, making them feel more connected to the company and each other.
