BCG Digital Ventures

BCG Digital Ventures is a corporate investment and incubation firm that invents, builds and invests in startups with the world’s most influential companies. Founded in 2014, they have major Innovation and Investment Centers all over the world, including headquarters in Manhattan Beach. Studio Other was approached by R&A Architecture + Design to meet the furniture needs of this 55,000-square-foot, two-floor office by providing all of the ancillary furniture throughout the space, 134 workstations and three private offices on the 5th floor, and 101 mobile workstations and 14 private offices on the 6th floor.

Each area of the floor plan is designed for a specific BCG DV team and includes a center workstation room, venture room, center lounge area and a scrum room, designed and intended for project management and collaboration.Studio provided unique hexagon-shaped conference tables for both the large and small rooms. Each table was designed with mobility and adaptability so that they can fit perfectly into the corners of the hexagon-shaped rooms. The hexagon is a recurring motif, ensuring the corporate culture of collaboration is expressed throughout all of BCG DV’s global workplaces.As for the workstations, all are height adjustable. Because the workstations on the 6th floor are mobile, Studio designed a powerless height adjustability feature in the form of a hand crank.In addition, Studio also provided removable tack boards and all of the mobile furniture for the scrum rooms in order to best fit the employees’ needs at any given time and allow for an adaptable collaborative space.
